The aim here is to keep it simple. We chose Belties because they have been our favourite cow for many years and are well suited to the harsher environment and rough grazing we have here. They are all very calm natured and so relatively easy to handle, even at calving time. We are planning to expand the herd maintaining the traditional characteristics of the breed.

Kernal Rigg Farm is situated around 10 miles north of Carlisle in the peaceful parish of Stapleton. We are surrounded by a beautiful variety of scenery, rolling hills, a peat moss, we can even see the Solway. We are very keen to promote both the breed and the area, welcoming visitors. Please call Max if you would like to come and see our herd.
